Freeport tax reliefs are a package of enhanced tax incentives — including Enhanced Capital Allowances, Enhanced Structures and Buildings Allowance, relief from Stamp Duty Land Tax, and Employer National Insurance relief on new employees — available to qualifying businesses that invest or take on staff within a designated freeport tax site in England, Scotland or Wales. The reliefs are time-limited and are intended to encourage investment, trade and job creation in and around the freeport, with detailed conditions attached to each individual relief.
