What is PIP Mobility Component?
The part of Personal Independence Payment for help with getting around because of a disability.
Full Definition
The mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is paid at a standard or enhanced weekly rate to people who need help moving around, whether because of a physical difficulty walking or because of psychological distress that affects the ability to plan and follow a journey. Like the daily living component, it uses a points-based descriptor assessment, and claimants can be entitled to the mobility component, the daily living component, or both, depending on their needs.
