Tell Us Once is a free UK government service (gov.uk) that lets you report a death to most relevant government departments with one notification: HMRC, DWP (State Pension, benefits), DVLA, Passport Office, local council (Council Tax, Blue Badge), public sector pensions. Use the reference given by the registrar when registering the death. Doesn't cover private organisations (banks, utilities, insurance) — those need contacting separately. Saves 10-15 hours of admin during bereavement.
