What was different about 2024/25
For 2024/25 the employee NI main rate was cut again — from 10% to 8% — from 6 April 2024, with the upper rate held at 2%. Income Tax rates and thresholds were unchanged, so take-home rose for almost everyone earning above the Primary Threshold purely from the NI cut.
