Statutory Minimums (2025)
• Full-time (5 days/week): 28 days (inc. 8 bank holidays)
• Part-time (3 days/week): 17 days (5.6 × 3, rounded up)
• Irregular hours: 12.07% of hours worked

Choose your work pattern
Full-time fixed days, part-time fixed days, shift worker, or irregular/zero-hours.
Enter days worked per week
For fixed-days workers, use your normal weekly working days. Pro-rata applies for part-time staff.
Apply 5.6 weeks formula
Multiply your weekly working days by 5.6 to get total statutory days. A 5-day worker gets 28; a 3-day worker gets 16.8.
For irregular hours, use 12.07%
Holiday accrues at 12.07% of each hour worked in a pay period. Track hourly accrual through the year.
Check bank holiday treatment
Read your contract — bank holidays can be included in the 28 days or given on top. Scotland and NI have extra holidays.
Plan leave or payment in lieu
Take leave during the leave year. On termination, accrued but untaken statutory leave must be paid out in cash.
